About Kazumasa Nagai
Kazumasa Nagai (born 1929, Osaka) is a celebrated Japanese printmaker and graphic designer, recognized as one of the “12 Japanese masters’’. After leaving the Tokyo University of the Arts in 1951, he co-founded the Nippon Design Center (1960), where he is the chief advisor.
His prolific output includes over 1,000 posters, notably the ongoing “Life” series (1980s-present). His work has received numerous awards, including the JAAC Member Award, Asahi Advertising Award Grand Prix, Yusaku Kamekura Award, ADC Grand Prix, Mainichi Design and Art Awards, and the Order of the Rising Sun.
